Deployment: In this scenario the Spanish/ catholic forces are exhausted after a long campaign and have been surprised by the French Huguenots sudden attack.  Turn 1: The French very cautiously push forwards. The Spanish infantry hastily march to shore up their line, but the cavalry on the right are disordered and delayed.  Turn 2: In the cornfield both sides mercenary reiters clash, exhausting one another in a brutal melee. The French however are able to send in their argoulets to finish the job, and the first catholic unit is destroyed.  Meanwhile the Huguenot shot skirmish with the detached manga's in the forest, allowing the French cuirassiers to ride straight past them on the road.  Turn 3: The elite Spanish tercio go straight for the indomitable Swiss. The Wars of Religion - Fields of Glory

Deployment: In this battle both sides are simply seeking to destroy the opposing army whilst preserving as much of their own force as possible. The Spanish/ Catholics have opted to put their cavalry and artillery in the centre between the swamp and the forest, whilst their infantry anchor both flanks. The French Huguenots have cavalry forming a front rank all along the line, but have weighted most of their infantry towards their left. Turn 1: The Spanish mounted arquebusiers begin some indecisive skirmishing in the centre. Their musketeers push through the forest, whilst the rest of the infantry slowly swing around the terrain and close in from the flanks. The French march their infantry past the cornfields to their left, leaving their cavalry to screen the centre.  Turn 2: Robert Devereux, Earl of Essex leads a body of French cuirassiers in a daring charge to smash the papist mounted arquebusiers. Battle off Gibralter

Deployment: In early 1941 Vichy France has declared war on the British empire and dispatched its fleet to draw off British naval forces ahead of a prospective German invasion. This battle takes in the straights of Gibraltar, so the long board edges are unscrollable. For this scenario both sides have a 100pt starting force, and a 50pt reinforcement force steaming towards the action. The arrival time and location of the reinforcements is randomised between the short board edges, once enemy reinforcements arrive each fleet is permitted to retreat from the opposite short board edge.  The French have their two modern battlecruisers Strasbourg and Dunkerque , three modern light cruisers La Galissonniere , Gloire and Montcalm , as well as four destroyers.
