The Wars of Religion - Surrounded Around the Flag

Deployment: In this scenario the Spanish/ catholic forces are exhausted after a long campaign and have been surprised by the French Huguenots sudden attack. Turn 1: The French very cautiously push forwards. The Spanish infantry hastily march to shore up their line, but the cavalry on the right are disordered and delayed. Turn 2: In the cornfield both sides mercenary reiters clash, exhausting one another in a brutal melee. The French however are able to send in their argoulets to finish the job, and the first catholic unit is destroyed. Meanwhile the Huguenot shot skirmish with the detached manga's in the forest, allowing the French cuirassiers to ride straight past them on the road. Turn 3: The elite Spanish tercio go straight for the indomitable Swiss. A slaughter ensues as neither side is willing to give ground and they fight three bloody rounds of 'bad war', pike going against pike in a horrific meat grinder until at last the Spanish are forced to yield and ha...

Space Marines vs Chaos

Deployment: This is a 'plant the flag' mission with each side trying to claim the majority of the buildings. The space marines start with their devastators and captain occupying the warehouse in the centre of their line. On the left they have a tactical squad, with two more tactical squads and the assault marines on the right. safely hidden behind the warehouse they have a whirlwind, whilst infiltrating ahead the scouts have claimed the large factory. The chaos warband has a short battleline, with a pair of noise marine and chaos space marine squads on both left and right, whilst the chaos lord leads his host from the centre. Space Marine Turn 1: The space marine captain takes two tactical squads forwards to claim the capitol building. The landspeeder shoots down the right flank ready to support the scouts, whilst another tactical squad and the assault marines claim the tower on the left. The Wars of Religion - Stubborn Defence

Deployment: In this game we are using the 'Liber Militum Tercios' rules, and their 3rd scenario 'stubborn defence'*. A strong Spanish force under the Duke of Palma have been chasing a weaker Huguenot one led by king Henri IV across the countryside, finally forcing them to make a stand. Fortunately for the French they have a cavalry detachment racing to the rescue. The Spanish score victory points for each unit they get into the defenders side of the board (just behind the fields), whilst the French get victory points for each attacking unit destroyed. In their vanguard the French have a mixed English regiment of pike, shot and billmen, a body of Huguenot arquebusiers, a medium artillery piece, and a squadron of cuirassiers. In reserve they have more Huguenot shot, cuirassiers, and a squadron of mercenary reiters. The Spanish infantry hold their centre, interspersing one Italian and one elite Spanish tercio with detached mangas of musketeers in between. On the right they...
