Catterick Garrison Vs Imperial Defence Force - Cross
Turn 1: The Catterick Garrison must get across this piece of enemy territory to get a vital message through. In the north Cpl Price is struck down by a shot from the ever alert fascist Sgt Flack, and the rest of his machinegun group dive for cover in the hedge.
In the south L/Cpl Mead leads the rest of the section into the trees.
Turn 2: The Catterick Garrison continue to advance, and hearing shots fired the Imperial Defence force come scrambling out of the woodwork. Pte Cooke nicks Constable Hopwood in the leg as he dashes across a gap in the hedges.

On the other flank Pte Owen with his lewis gun and the rest of the gun group set up a formidable base of fire, pinning all three of the fascists sheltering in and around the cottage.
Turn 3: unable to see each other over the thick hedge, Constable Murphy and L/Cpl Mead's half section both advance over open ground, on the verge of colliding.
Turn 4: Bringing his men up to the hedge Mead is confronted by the fascist constable at point blank range. Amazingly the hedge shelters his men from the shotgun blast!
Whilst Mead has time to swing his Lanchester SMG into action, gunning down Constable Murphy and pinning another fascist lurking at the corner of the house.
In the north Pte Frost dashes towards the cottage, relying on covering fire from Pte Owen. But at the worst moment the lewis gun jams! With astonishing luck the Imperial Defence forces Constable grubb misses at point blank range!

Allowing Frost to hurl a grenade through the cottage window, badly mauling Sgt Flack.

Turn 5: Hastily pulling the bolt back on his rifle, Grubb fires another shot. This time hitting Frost square in the shoulder and taking him out of the fight.

Pte Everest picks up his rifle while Owen is busily unjamming the gun, casually snapping off a round that blows off one of Constable Craddock's fingers. The fascist throws down his weapon, cradles his wounded hand, and crawls off to find shelter.

Back in the south Constable Bracket cranks his bolt back and forth, emptying a clip as each round narrowly misses Pte Foggarty, trailing him into the trees.

Turn 6: Keeping his head up just a moment too long Pte Everest falls to the ground as another round from Constable Grubb grazes his neck.

L/Cpl Mead manages to pin Constable Bracket, and bravely hops over the hedge with his men. They are blindsided by Sergeant McGarry, sneaking along the edge of the house behind them, who aims into their flank with his pistol...

But is dispatched just before he can fire by quick shot from the cool headed Pte Foggarty.

Turn 7: L/Cpl Mead lays down suppressing fire with his Lanchester, ordering Pte Dury to advance at the double up to the trees to outflank the house.

The cowering Constable Bracket hears Dury call out, and throws up his hands in surrender.

Although sustaining casualties and tangled up in an ongoing firefight in the north, the army regular have broken through in the south and successfully cross this occupied hamlet. Catterick Garrison win!
