Orks vs White Scars

Deployment: In this 'Secure and Control' scenario both sides are trying to claim the 5 loot counters scattered across the board. The Orks concentrate their 3 powerful slugga boy mobz in the centre, backed up by the warboss, skorcha, and screened by the grotz. On the right are their dreadnought and burna boyz, whilst on the left they have a unit of shoota boyz. The white scars have 3 units of bikes making up their front line, a unit of veteran bikers with the captain in the centre, and a landspeeder on the right.

Ork Turn 1: The horde advances, careful to stick to cover wherever possible and making the most of the gretchin to provide better footing and speed up their movement.

White Scars Turn 1: The landspeeder shoots down the flank, but otherwise the bikers pull back slightly, patiently watching their foe and waiting for the right moment to strike.

Ork Turn 2: The horde pushes onwards. The shoota boyz take up firing positions in the capitol on the left, whilst the skorcha races over to support that flank.

White Scars Turn 2: With appalling luck a biker fails his rerolled dangerous terrain test, smashing straight into the wall of the factory! The rest of his unit together with the landspeeder get into position and unleash an awesome fusilade into the flank of the slugga boyz.

Another bike squad races forward to annihilate the ork dreadnought with their meltagun. The slugga boyz are caught in the explosion and take heavy casualties, but a stray piece of shrapnel decapitates the lead biker!

Meanwhile two more bike squads concentrate on the far flank, thinning out the shoota boyz with their twin linked bolters.

Ork Turn 3: With fantastic difficult terrain dice the orks barrel forward over some very bruised gretchin, charging into melee with three bike squads!

On the left a unit of bikers and the veterans are ripped from their saddles and hacked to pieces, leaving the space marine captain on his own and locked in combat with a whole mob of slugga boyz.

On the right the nob stumbles in the charge, his powerclaw tearing a hole in the factory instead of the astartes armor, and the combat is a draw.

White Scars Turn 3: The bike squad in the centre dexterously weave through the silos to come out blasting on the other side. They bolter, flame, and then smash into the slugga boyz, but the press is just too thick and the nob with his powerclaw pulverizes most of the squad. Meanwhile the White Scars captain is hacked apart, while the Ork warboss finishes off the bikers in the factory.

Ork Turn 4: The last biker is slain, leaving the landspeeder as all that remains of the White Scar army. The warboss and two slugga boy mobz scramble to the rooftop to smash it, but only succeed in buffeting the crewmen and preventing it from firing.

White Scar Turn 4: The shaken landspeeder guns its engines and zooms off to the back of the board and away from the dangerous concentration of Ork powerclaws.

Ork Turn 5: Totally unconcerned at the near futility of their efforts, the shooter boyz suicidally form up in the open to give the landspeeder a ragged volley.

White Scars Turn 5: The Ork skorcha has raced forward onto an objective, but the recovered landspeeder crew light it up with heavy bolters and assault cannons, detonating its fuel in a fiery explosion.

Ork Turn 6: Once again the shoota boyz gleefully pump rounds skyward in the vague direction of the landspeeder, whilst a slugga boy nob swings his powerclaw at the agile craft. Neither are successful in inflicting any damage.

White Scars Turn 6: The Landspeeder lands on an objective, preserving the dignity of the chapter. But with three more in Ork hands and massive space marine casualties it is a black day for the White Scars. Orks win!
