Lost and the Damned Vs Tyranids
Deployment: In this 'take and hold' scenario, both forces are trying to secure the center of the board whilst minimizing their own losses. The Lost and the Damned have a vast horde of forty zombies, led by two aspiring champions and escorted by a mob of chaos spawn dominating their center. On the right are the plague marines with good fields of fire over the open ground and gibbering hordes anchoring their flank. A small unit of traitors infiltrate on the left, hoping to deny that avenue of attack to the enemy. The Tyranids have four broods of genestealers scattered along their start line with the ripper swarms in the middle. The broodlord and its retinue infiltrate into the heart of the factory, contesting the central objective from the outset.

Tyranid Turn 1: The broodlord pulls back slightly as the rest of the Tyranids rush forward to concentrate in the factory. A lone unit of genestealers spread out and attempt to run down the traitors in the open.

LatD Turn 1: A disciplined salvo from the plague marines scythes through the genestealers in the open, bringing four down with bolter fire. Meanwhile the traitors bravely advance to bring their flamer to bear... but the xenos are too thinly spread and only one of the brood is slain. In the center the plague zombies and chaos spawn lumber forward into the factory.


Tyranid Turn 2: In seconds the traitors are shredded into bloody meat as the genestealers tear through them. The Tyranids slam into the zombie's in the factory. Though putrefying limbs are scattered faster than the eye can see, one by one genestealers are buried by the weight of bodies and clubbed to death by the nurglitch horde. Buzzing in from the board edge, the gargoyles sweep up behind the factory.
LatD Turn 2: The chaos spawn hurtle into the back of the broodlords pack, smashing apart the xenos even as their own flesh is hamstrung and crippled by their razor sharp claws. The brood lord herself is badly injured by a swing of the aspiring champions powerfist as she carves a bloody path through the zombies.
Tyranid Turn 3: The carnifex lumbers onto the table and launches its barbed strangler at the gibbering hordes, but the worms have spread themselves thin and only a handful are ripped apart. In the factory the zombies on the left are whittled down as yet another brood of genestealers crash into them, but the aspiring champion heroically fights on, pulverizing four more of these apex predators with his powerfist. The gargoyles stampede through the factory to the broodlords rescue, scuttling all over the chaos spawn and vomiting bio plasma into any opening they can find.
LatD Turn 3: Keen to escape the carnifex's line of sight, the plague marines and gibbering hordes race through the open and into the melee. The worms open their maws and latch onto the gargoyles fragile bodies, swallowing, crunching through bone, and devouring them whole. The cornered and wounded broodlord is still a dangerous beast, lithely dodging the powerfist blows and rending apart any zombies that get too close. The last of the zombies on the left are brought down. The surrounded aspiring champion makes his last stand, powerfist swinging and screaming defiance.

Tyranid Turn 4: In a sea of foes and their remains, the broodlord is finally slain as a zombie grabs ahold and rips apart her neck with a massive bite at the base of the skull. The worms have consolidated into the ripper swarms and remaining genestealers, their warp infused flesh warding off the worst of the attacks whilst they slurp down more xenos meat.
LatD Turn 4 & Tyranid Turn 5: The chaos spawn also join the fray alongside the gibbering hordes and the last of the genestealers are eradicated. The hellhound finally arrives, but with no targets advances cautiously, steering clear of the carnifex as it clambers onto the factory roof.
LatD Turn 5: The worms slither up onto the roof and all over the carnifex. Although their needle teeth cannot pierce its thick chitin armor they do bog it down in melee and stop it's deadly barbed strangler from being brought to bear at range.
Tyranid Turn 6: Talons scything and tail swishing the carnifex shakes off and tramples most of the worms into a gooey rancid paste.
LatD Turn 6: In a finale effort the plague marines and zombies scale the building to take on the beast. Bolters are fired, chainsaws whirr, but at last the two powerfist's smash through the creatures armor puncturing deep into its flank and thorax. With the Carnifex's body now lifeless there are no Tyranids left on the board. The lost and the damned however have two scoring units within 12" of table center, giving them a bloody but crushing victory!
