Alpha Legion Vs Lost and the Damned
Deployment: In this rescue mission, an informant is stranded on the surface of a Nurglitch daemon world. The Alpha legion are trying to recover their asset whilst the Lost and the Damned seek to capture them and find out what secrets have already been passed on. There are 6 cultist models scattered across the board, each force must identify the real informant and then keep hold of them until the end of turn 6 to win. The Chaos host have a pack of plague zombies and gibbering hordes deployed centrally, with traitors infiltrating into the silos. The Alpha Legion deploy their cultists and a chaos lieutenant on their right behind the fountain. They also infiltrate havoc squads into prime positions atop the capitol building on their left and tower in the center. Thrust forward in the middle a marine squad and another chaos lieutenant infiltrate the factory.

LatD Turn 1: The old imperial structures on the surface of this Daemon world have all long since been mined and booby-trapped, and the overbold Alpha Legion havocs are entombed in rubble as the Capitol building is rocked by a massive explosion and comes crashing down over their heads. Taking this as their signal, the gibbering hordes and zombies begin to shamble forwards. 

Alpha Legion Turn 1: The havocs in the tower open up on the traitors, but only two are fool enough to expose themselves. The chaos marines in the factory seize the first cultist they find... but are disappointed to find it is not their man.


Alpha Legion Turn 2: The remaining lieutenant with his retinue of cultists find the informant skulking by the fountain! Now they must hold onto their prize. They are aided by the havocs in the tower thinning the ranks of the plague marines with their heavy bolters and missile launchers.

LatD Turn 3: The rest of the Lost and the Damned reserves arrive. A hellhound comes screeching in from the board edge deploying smoke launchers to protect it this turn, whilst out from the sewers a fearsome mob of chaos spawn come limping towards the cultists. As knowledge of the informants location is psychically passed mind to mind by the death guard aspiring champions, the plague zombies in the capitol suddenly turn around and tear back into the factory, embroiling the Alpha Legionaries there in a hopeless melee.


Alpha Legion Turn 3: Choosing his moment carefully, the legions lone obliterator teleports into the fray... but messily materializes halfway inside one of the silos and is destroyed. Meanwhile the Chaos lieutenant leads the cultists in a desperate breakout attempt and smashes into the plague marines, only to be brought down by the aspiring champions power fist.


LatD Turn 4: The plague marines finish off the remaining cultists and claim the informant for themselves. Meanwhile the rest of the host shamble forwards as fast as they can be driven to secure their prize, all except the chaos spawn who wander listlessly now that there are no foes within reach.

Alpha Legion Turn 4: The two squads of havocs continue to rain down heavy weapons fire with impunity. Those in the capitol nip at the heels of the retreating plague zombies, whilst those in the tower kill the plague marine guarding the informant, leaving the target isolated and unclaimed. The traitor Astarte's on the ground radio desperately to their ship in orbit, demanding their promised reinforcements. But the call goes unanswered.

LatD Turn 5: The Spawn continue to stand stupidly, whilst the traitors inch their way forwards towards the informant. The hellhound maneuvers around the silos to offer up some token return fire on the havocs with its heavy bolter.

Alpha Legion Turn 5: As the plague zombies finish off the squad in the factory and shamble out into the open the havocs are distracted from their fire plan and defensively shoot down the undead, ignoring the vulnerable traitors in the silos.

LatD Turn 6: The Nurglitch horde surges forwards and the traitors dart into the open to claim the informant. If they can survive just one turn then the day will be there's, and unimaginable dark blessings await them.

Alpha Legion: Finally the Alpha Legions final reserve arrives. A squad of terminator chosen teleport in and immolate the traitors in a smothering of unholy promethium, alongside a fusillade of combi bolter fire for good measure. Recognizing their asset is now a lost cause, they do not trouble to discriminate with their fire. With neither side able to claim the objective, the game is a draw!
