Imperial Defence Force & Catterick Garrison Vs City of York Militia - Overrun

Deployment: A combined taskforce from the Imperial Defence Force, Catterick Garrison, and including armoured support are renewing the offensive towards York. The detachment of the City of York Militia defending this hamlet know they have no chance, all they can do is slow down the enemy and buy time for their comrades before they are overrun.

Turn 1: On the left the fascists surge forwards in three groups on both sides of the road. Inside the house Anthony, Steven and their leader Leo barely have time to respond, scrambling up to the windows and firing a few hurried shots to no effect. 



The Catterick Garrison spread out, with Pte Foggarty and Dury ordered to take the lead and check the pigpen for the enemy. 



Henry is startled to find Pte Foggarty bearing down on him, taking a rifle butt to the head that knocks him out cold. 



Turn 2: Sgt Flack and SC Murphy make it up to the windows, under covering fire from SC Grubb and Craddock. Flack deftly chucks a grenade through the window, riddling Leo with shrapnel and forcing Anthony to throw himself into a corner away from the windows. 



The rest of the fascists swing around to threaten the flanks. 



Mildred's shot goes wide as Pte Dury clumsily tumbles over the wall. L/Cpl Mead races up to the hedge and sprays the pigpen with his Lanchester SMG, clipping Mildred in the hip and knocking her out of the fight.  



Turn 3: SC Lovelace charges up to the front door and unloads his shotgun, filling Steven with buckshot. Sgt McGarry leads his team over the hedge and across the field towards the second house. 



The Catterick Garrison are joined by a Bren gun carrier trundling on from the road in the centre. With the pigpen secure they dart forwards towards what must be the rebels final redoubt. 



George and Helen wait for their moment inside the final house. As Sgt McGarry enters the field George puts a round through his leg. Mildred braces her rifle grenade on the windowsill and lands a bomb perfectly in the middle of the group behind, killing two more of the fascists. 




Turn 4: The Catterick Garrison storm into the house from behind. Knowing their fate if the fascists get hold of them, Helen and George throw their hands up and surrender to the regular soldiers. The Government forces have swept through this hamlet with minimal delay. the Imperial Defence Force and the Catterick Garrison win!

Deployment: In this game we are using the 'Liber Militum Tercios' rules, and their 3rd scenario 'stubborn defence'*. A strong Spanish force under the Duke of Palma have been chasing a weaker Huguenot one led by king Henri IV across the countryside, finally forcing them to make a stand. Fortunately for the French they have a cavalry detachment racing to the rescue. The Spanish score victory points for each unit they get into the defenders side of the board (just behind the fields), whilst the French get victory points for each attacking unit destroyed. Old Feuds: Rus Vs Carolingians

Deployment: The Carolingians have enlisted a veteran soldier of the wilderness to help them track down and eliminate the Rus protected green wizard ( princess ). Victory will go to the side that can eliminate the others special character, or cripple the enemies warband through victory points. The Carolingians have a powerful unit of mounted hearthguard on their left, archers in the ruins on the right, and the soldier with two small squads of warriors in between. The Rus are arrayed in a dense phalanx to protect their patron.  Turn 1: The Carolingian infantry tentatively manoeuvre forward whilst their horsemen secure the hill on the flank.  Carolingian Turn 2: The Frankish archers advance to take a potshot at the Rus levy, but only one is slain. City of York Militia Vs Catterick Garrison - Infiltrate

Deployment: The City of York Militia has successfully snuck around the government position in this village to attack them from the rear. Leo leads his half section on the left towards the garden wall,  whilst Mike takes his along the hedgerow on the right. With their position untenable the best the Catterick Garrison can do is pull back and try to regroup, to win at least one of their models must escape across their board edge. * Turn 1: Pte Foggarty and Frost are dutifully guarding the road and keeping their eyes towards the enemy lines. They are startled by the sound of bullets whizzing past their ears and turn to see the rebels bearing down on them from the rear.  Both dive for cover behind the houses.  Turn 2: Mike and George dash across a gap in the hedgerow, but Cpl Price is alert to the danger and has swung his machinegun team around.
